The Chianti Classico EcoMarathon is organized by the Polisportiva La Bulletta, through the Chianti EcoMarathon Committee, in collaboration with the voluntary associations of the Municipality of Castelnuovo Berardenga.
It is an event created with the aim of enhancing and enhancing the landscape, food and wine riches and traditions of our territories through a running event that takes place in a panorama characterized by paths and dirt roads . Added to this is our desire to party with you through collateral events, two Pasta Parties (the evening before and after the race).
The slogan of the event is "Come and live a dream" which reflects the desire to convey the beauty of our places, accompanied by a rich tourist, cultural and food and wine offer.
Respecting our territory, the Chianti Classico EcoMarathon joins the international campaign “I don't throw away my waste” and adopts biodegradable cups as well as a cleaning service that follows the last runner.
EcoMaratona del Chianti Classico joins the “Sahara Marathon” setting itself the objective of helping the Sahaarawi refugee people, both by commissioning them to produce the participation medals offered to all athletes, and by sending food products, clothing and medicines.
The routes are different, designed for everyone's needs and for this reason the 17th Chianti Classico EcoMarathon 2024 predicts both non-competitive events that the four different competitive running events :
- Chianti Classico EcoMarathon 42 km
- Chianti Eco Marathon 21 km
- Between the woods and the Chianti vineyards 13 km
- 3×1500 m relay
There are four competitive distances on which athletes with different characteristics and degrees of preparation will be able to test themselves. The party begins on Friday 18 October when the historic center of Castelnuovo Berardenga will be the setting for the emotions of the 3x1,500m relay . On Saturday 19 October we will discover local food and wine with the Emozioni Chianti Classico. On Sunday 20 October, after having collected the appreciation of the new routes on which the participants attempted in the last edition, the Organizing Committee confirmed them also for 2024. Therefore, the EcoMaratona del Chianti Classico 42Km , EcoMaratonina del Chianti Classico is starting 21Km and Between the woods and the Chianti vineyards 13Km . Closing the departures will be the EcoWalks of 6, 13 and 19 km , non-competitive at a free pace open to all.
SPORTLAB Milano is the TECHNICAL SPONSOR of the event for the first year and will support the participants in this incredible event with the practical single-dose of the now famous WARMUP CREAM (the cream designed to support the preparation of muscles and tendons) and the COOLDOWN CREAM (which instead optimizes and improves post-activity muscle recovery).
